About United FC
With the spring season in full tilt, United FC continues to add to our young but already storied history. We point to several recent developments on and off the field, and feel confident the foundation is set to yield many positive results for players and families within our soccer club. Among the more exciting moves for United FC was the launch of our Academy Age Division (U-8) within our Youth Development Program which continues this Spring, the summer organization of our U-23 United FC Teams (featuring several current and former UW-Parkside and Carthage stand-outs, as well as local high school high school talent), and our recruiting and marketing tools for those players looking toward their college futures.
"Each day the momentum of this club presents so many successes and future challenges, comments Steve Domin. "From witnessing a player involved in his or her first combination play or making their first move, or an entire team winning a tournament, to a new idea presented by a parent or board member, there are so many people willing to help and support our kids. I am proud they are becoming successful soccer players and young role models in our community."
With fall try-outs rapidly approaching, United FC is positioned for its most exciting year to date. With the endorsement of KASL, our Club will continue to provide support and guidance through free instructional clinics for players and coaches, United FC will see the kick off to the season with the annual Battle on the Border Tournament, continued detailed sessions with our training staff, and our All-Club dates.
On the field we see the first steps being reached for the players. Good first touch, better decision making, faster speed of play, staying in control of one's body, playing with our heads up, over emphasizing staying busy and supporting one another in action and voice are all among the common messages. Step two is already taking shape. As we continue to build on the foundation above, we will place equal emphasis on combination play and team defending, and fitness. Trainer and Coach Greg Winter has been tackling these issues early with the staff. Encouraging players to take space in different ways and to understand pressure & cover situationlly, body position and to become more agile.
Through this process we aim to link players on their individual teams while highlighting a tiered system within an evolving curriculum, from team to team, and from age level to age level.

It is important all players, parents, coaches, and staff understand communication is our best asset in training and logistics. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to seek out a manager, staff coach, director, or board member; and preferably in that order. We are all here to help on and off the field, and willing to take the time to make United FC stronger each day. Membership and parents are encouraged and welcome to attend any UFC meeting.
State of the Club Message
Here we almost two years later. In this past year we feel our club has grown tremendously and gained some valuable experience. We have enjoyed many successes and dealt with many adversities. At the onset of United FC we had a large meeting at Carthage College at which time we discussed the year ahead. One of our main points at that time was that as a group we would have our ups and downs, some bumps in the road, but that our players were going to be put in a soccer environment where they would learn and be pushed everyday. There is no doubt that this has been the case.
We have had great feedback from parents, coaches, and trainers about the on field improvements several of our teams have experienced. This is a direct result of the training our coaches and players have received. With ourselves, Greg Winter, Ben Lake, Jeff Laurent and all of our individual coaches, we believe we have the best staff of soccer people of any club in the State. We have put a lot of work into creating a brand of soccer our coaches and players can understand and embrace. Being a good passing club is not easy, but learning this style will pay off in the end.
There is much more work to be done. We are constantly analyzing each age group and coach to figure out which coaches will be best for which players, and how to get the best out of everyone. As our club is growing, our coaches, our trainers, our players, our boards and us are all learning how to do things even better. Our goal is to do things different and better. We are striving to be the best. "It's not what we do, it's how we do it!" We will continue to push this club to improve in every way.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children, and we speak for the entire staff of United FC when we say that this endeavor has been a complete joy.
Sincerely,
Jesse Marsch and Steve Domin
